Abstract
This is a hospital based descriptive cross sectional study conducted on 50 ectopic pregnant patients admitted in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, North East Medical College Hospital, Sylhet during the period of October 2015 to September 2017. The age range was 18 to 42 years most of the patients were of 30 years Previous history of abortion, MR, D&C. history of pelvic infections, history of infertility, abdominal surgery constituted the main bulk of factors suspecting to predispose to ectopic pregnancy. Other factors were previous history of IUCD insertion, history of ectopic pregnancy, passive smoking, emergency contraceptive’s failure. The study shows several conditions that alter the tubal transport systems and factors that alter the ovum quality can cause ectopic pregnancy.
