Abstract
Eccrineporocarcinoma (EPC) is a very rare type of skin cancer. It is a malignancy of sweat gland. It can arise as primary tumour or more commonly as malignant transformation of an eccrineporoma. It mainly occurs in the elderly, with about equal incidence in both sexes. There is no predilection for any racial groups. Metastasis is rare; usually to regional lymph nodes. A rapid review of literature has been presented We report a case of patient with EPC of the scalp, with cervical lymph node involvement. A 75 years old male presented with a swelling in right side of neck and a growth in scalp. The scalp growth was excised with wide margin. Histopathology of excised scalp growth andcervical lymph noderevealed porocarcinoma. He was treated with adjuvant radiotherapy. Porocarcinoma is rare entity and very poorly understood due to lack of studies. Not much data is available for chemotherapy or radiation therapy, which could have been proven to be of clinical benefit in treating metastatic disease. Although in the current case the short follow-up period is a limitation, we consider the management of EPC a multidisciplinary approach involving surgery and radiotherapy. Early diagnosis and aggressive multimodality treatment would increase overall survival.
