Abstract
This comparative cross sectional study was conducted in Chunarughat Upozila, Habiganj District from  August 2015 to October 2015 with the objectives to access the know knowledge about first-aid before and after educational intervension among 200 high school students. All the information was collected in a semi-structured self-administered questionnaire and data were analyzed using SPSS version 17. Mean monthly family income of the respondents was 9805.50 Tk. Fifty five percent (55.5%) students had poor knowledge regarding first aid treatment of above mentioned injuries before intervention, which improved to 3.0% after intervention. Only 112 students gave multiple correct answer regarding management of snake bite injury by first aid before intervention, which after intervention improved up to 154. Statistically this improvement is highly significant (P< 0.001). So, there is strong association between educational intervention and improvement of knowledge on first aid among the high school students.
Key Words: First-aid treatment, educational intervention, high school students, snake bite.
