Abstract
The prostate gland is a bro-muscular and glandular organ. Incidence of prostatic disease increases day by day in Bangladesh. It has been observed by various researcher that the dimension of different organs in Bangladeshi population have got variations from those of the western population. It is observed by reviewing the existing literatures that significant variations are presented among the different age group. Though many of us have studied on prostate of Bangladeshi population but that was not sufficient to exclude any regional variations. In order to plan appropriate treatment strategies of prostatic disease, studies on human prostate are expected to helpful for consultant urologist, pathologist & sonologist to diagnosis of disease. The present study was carried out on 60 (Sixty) autopsied human prostate of different age groups in Bangladeshi people. All the specimens were studied macroscopically by careful dissection. A descriptive study was done in the department of Anatomy in collaboration of Forensic Medicine, Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College, Sylhet. There is no significant positive correlation between age & number of acini (central and peripheral) of prostate.
