Abstract
Aims and objects: To identify the weaknesses of maternal and child healthy feeding process and produce to the related authority for necessary appropriate steps.

Methods and materials: The study was conducted between 1st July to 31st December 2012 of out patient department of pediatrics and food and nutrition in North East Medical College and Hospital. Food habit, body weight, economic condition, education of parents, family size, occupation of parents. place of delivery, exclusive breast feeding, healthy caring practice of the mother and child was studied on cross sectional basis on 200 subjects. For data collection personal interview, pre-developed questionnaire and personal observation at the interview were used. To record the weight of the subjects a weighting machine was used. National nutrition council (NNC) and National center for health statistics (NCHS) weight chart was used for identifying nutritional status (weight/age). Simple statistical techniques were applied for data analysis.

Conclusion: It was concluded that less awareness about implementation of nutritional knowledge is the main problem in upgrading the nutritional status of maternal and child feeding process in study population especially in our rural areas of Bangladesh.
